27 Mar 335 million kuna from the Swiss-Croatian co-operation programme
10 Contracts for the implementation of the Projects regarding the Water Supply and Wastewater in the area of Gorski Kotar, Demining, Development of Entrepreneurship and Modernization of Vocational Education and higer education were signed.
On March 27, 2018, Minister of Regional Development and Funds of the European Union, Ms Gabrijela Žalac signed ten Project implementation agreements within the Swiss-Croatian Cooperation Program with representatives of numerous institutions involved in the implementation of this Programme. Among other, Ms Blaženka Divjak the Minister of Science and Education, ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in the Republic of Croatia Mr. Stefan Estermann and State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Mr. Mario Šiljeg were attended the signing ceremony.
The total value of ten Projects is HRK 335.5 million, out of which Swiss contribution is HRK 282.3 million and it is a result of the intensive work of the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union funds as National Coordination Units and numerous institutions that are included in implementation of the Swiss-Croatian Mechanism.
On this occasion, Minister of Regional Devolvement and EU funds, Ms. Žalac emphasized: “In addition to the financial value and social benefits of these projects, I would especially like to point out the added value of the Swiss-Croatian Cooperation Program ant that is partnership, i.e. strengthen bilateral cooperation with our friends at the Swiss Embassy in Croatia.”
Above mentioned Funds have been invested in three infrastructure projects for water supply and wastewater in the area of Gorski Kotar i.e. in the City of Delnice and Municipalities of Fužine and Brod Moravice, than the demining of 1.7 million square meters of mined area of Kotor forest near city of Petrinja, projects regarding modernization of vocational education and higher education, a project support SMEs focused on research and development and projects of the non-government sector (a summary of the projects that are financed under the Programme is attached).
The implementation of projects will ensure a further improvement of environmental protection and infrastructure, demining and socio-economic integration, education and research programmes as well the activities of NGO sector.
