OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT: Promotion of Tenure Track Model aims to promote economic development and improve the working conditions of top researchers through a pilot programme to support career development and progress in public scientific (research) institutions in Croatia, thereby increasing the international attractiveness, recognition and visibility of the Croatian research system.
PROJECT PURPOSE: To offer to young and talented scientists (researchers) an interesting long-term career perspective in Croatia.
The project will increase the quality of research activities carried out by scientific institutions and the quality of doctoral education programmes for new generations of young researchers. Additionally, cooperation with Swiss partner Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) will enable Croatia to gain valuable experience from a top university, while the name and reputation of EPFL will help attract young talented scientists and provide international visibility to the programme. Research and development activities should focus on issues of relevance to technological development, research areas and topics that can stimulate economic growth. The pilot project will focus on the institutional promotion of research excellence, the raising of innovative capacities, and the development of mentoring systems based on high quality research.
Beneficiaries of the Tenure Track Pilot Programme are top young researchers who have shown a significant level of quality in their work. Funding is eligible for scientific areas of natural sciences: electronic engineering, information technology, chemistry, physics, neuroscience, biology. Interdisciplinary project proposals are welcomed.
